Geek Love Radio Ep. 18 is up and running.

itunes pic

Thank you again for listening to Geek Love Radio and this week…both Dave the Drummer and I are a bit tired. I for the early morning hours, and he for a long weekend of work. So its easy to tell how exhausted we are as we ramble about dangerous women, manipulation, and sending naked pics over the internet and the double standard that comes with it. Spoiler: We as a society are cool with naked ladies, but ridicule the naked men. Tell me what you think at theglshow@gmail.com

Show Notes

Topic 1: Sex tourism

More like real human renting than prostitution, but still is prostitution. Time is spent with the person on the long term. Economic booms a pro, but is it taking advantage, or is it a legitimate job for those in struggling countries? Many do it for a Visa, to get into Canada, Britain and America. Psychological stuff, such as being an object, guilt for many reasons (Religious, moral and noticeably in male prostitution to older women, that they feel indebted to them). Risk of HIV and AIDS, and other sexual diseases.

Media: Rent-A-Rasta – Female sex tourism, not great information, good for Jamaican + Rastafari history. http://www.rentarasta.com/

Bangkok Girl – Intense, sticks in your mind, true tragedy. http://www.amazon.com/Bangkok-Girl-Documentary-about-Thailands/dp/B000MCIANA

Topic 2: Article: Five Reasons you should date a chubster

From Miami NewsTimes Lifestyle column:

1. He rsquo;s Funny
2. He rsquo;s always down for sex.
3. He knows where to eat.
4. You rsquo;re always the prettier one.
5. Your girlfriends don rsquo;t want to have sex with him– at first. http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/cultist/2010/09/five_reasons_you_should_date_a.php

Relationship advice: Communication

What do you think people? Has open communication made things better or made things worse?

A Critical Moment of Awesome Ep. 3: The show finds purpose!

The Feed: A Critical Moment of Awesome

In this week’s episode, I find PURPOSE for the show. Talking about the moments of awesome in our lives. Because life can be crappy sometimes, but we all have moments that are so amazing, so funny, or so ridiculous that it changes our mood. It makes us forget the bad, or improve what’s already great. So I talk about that, as well as my Scott Pilgrim cast encounter (my moments of awesome), and how strange it is to me to find out that “hipster” is a term of insult. If you have a moment of awesome you want to share, write in to critmo@mail.com.

Geek Love Radio Season 2 BEGINS!

Geek Love Radio Season 2 Episode 1 is up and running on iTunes and Podomatic. Links at the end. It starts off rough, I have to admit, but it can only get better from here. Haha. Thanks again to Dave, the Drummer for the intro and end song, and thanks again to Maria-whatsherface, for the logo. More logos to come and possibly more intros to come. We’ll figure out which is best overall.

So check out this episode, oddly enough not an accurate representation of the new Season but more like the first one. Look at me talking like there’s a huge difference. Haha. Anything comments, questions, stories, anything…just write here on the blog or send in an e-mail to theglshow@gmail.com.

Podomatic: Geek Love Radio Season 2 Ep. 1

A Critical Moment of Awesome Episode 2

Hi everybody. I posted a new episode of A Critical Moment of Awesome that can be found on iTunes and on here from the link at the top of the blog. I talk about the last blog post as well as old cartoons, a Jurassic Park musical, Rocket Boom, and my infatuation with its daily news host. Hehe. But you can listen to all that, just download and listen today.

There are probably more, but I honestly can’t remember them. Something about Darkwing Duck. Man, I loved that cartoon when I was a kid and Gizmoduck. That was pretty cool. I digress. I hope you all like the new venture. Tell me what you think or whether or not its worthwhile? Appreciate it! E-mail me at critmo@mail.com!

PS. Many thanks to Dave the Drummer who helped put that cool logo together!

Show Notes for Geek Love Radio Ep. 12

Today I talk about a place where virgins can find other like minded virgins at a dating website made for them. I also talk about how commendable it is, but that it may not be the best way to about getting into any kind of a relationship. You probably want to try before you guy don’t you? I’m just saying. The links mentioned on the site include.

You and Me are Pure

You and I Abstain

the CNET article

Geek Love Radio Ep. 11 Show Notes

Well, I don’t like repeating what I write on the sidebar, but the links definitely don’t show up as they should, so here is what I talked about. I talked about Fetishes, and how they’re normal and okay, and that I have some of my own based on the list from Askmen.com. Also Oddee.com talks about freaky fetishes. I think, to each their own, so if you love that stuff, go for it. Fetishes should not be confused with paraphilias which can be considered illegal. Anyway, a lot more about facts, but a fun topic nonetheless. Click the links to find out more.

Well, I tried to interview my buddy who’s an ace at getting ladies online, but it didn’t quite work out. Either way, this week’s episode is on asking the person out on a date, and how the internet plays a role in the whole thing.

There’s also a little reminiscing about the late 90s and early turn of the century and how the internet was back there and how much of a geek I really was back then. I mean, I guess I still am now, but…never mind.

So there’s plenty to learn, and with luck, plenty to apply in your life on this second episode of Geek Love Radio.

Geek Love Radio Official? Episode 1: I don't have a title for it.

Okay, so I really have to stop doing my podcasts in the middle of the night, because I’m exhausted. Either way, I finished and mildly edited my latest episode of Geek Love Radio. I apologize for the sound, I’m still trying to play with the knobs and the switches to get the volumes just right, so I’m sorry if its loud.

Show Notes:

This week I talk about the two types of people looking for relationships, one for just sex and the other for something long term. So I discuss Tom Leykis’ 101, which used to be a segment on his radio show, and how it applies to getting some.

Leykis 101

I also talk about where the worst and best places to meet someone, as well as using the Internet to find a significant other, with reference to Cnet’s article on Facebook and love.

Jasmine France’s Facebooking for Love

I would also like you, the audience to be my other host, and send in any questions, comments, or constructive criticism to theglshow@gmail.com Share any experiences you’ve had in any of the topics talked about as well as any other ways you think we can meet people. Like I said, I know I haven’t covered everything.

Thanks again for listening, and I hope you enjoy the show.
