Did that catch your attention just a little bit? Did it? Because it got my attention (well, mostly because I wrote it and it had to have my attention), and I’m not talking about literal, physical crap, so don’t think its anything gross. But it does have to deal inadvertently with two girls and one cup and “crap” like that. No pun intended. I don’t really understand why people like really bad stuff on youtube. Now, I mean, you guys are here you listen to my podcast…they’re not great, but they’re not THAT bad. People for some reason like to watch really bad videos, like two girls, one cup. Now, I bring this up because I was listening to Kevin and Bean and every time they mention their Internet Roundup, they mention these horrible videos and how popular they are. Now, I normally don’t bother with really horrible videos, because I normally don’t like laughing at other people who are disillusioned in thinking that they’re funny, but I will see an occasional video that’s actually funny, but I guess I’m the minority.
I will laugh usually, though, on people who fall and only have a hurt ego. But it amazes me that people LOVE, and I mean, LOVE watching people make fools of themselves or hurt themselves so bad that they have horrible disfiguring injuries. Is it the train wreck effect? I’m going to give some demonstrations of videos that people find funny (at end of post), and you can tell me, because maybe I’m missing something. Maybe I just missed the punchline as to why these videos are funny. So I’m going to give my argument why its not funny to me and why I think its funny to other people.
Okay, so I’m not saying I don’t have a sense of humor. I like to laugh. I (sorry people), like to make fun of other people based on one thing or another. I hate to elaborate because I don’t want to look that skeevy. People around me think I’m funny, even when I think my jokes are lame. I even joke with sexual innuendo, and all that good stuff. I’m not immune to the comedy, and I respect people have all sorts of senses of humor, but some stuff is just kind of…what’s the kind way of putting it…stupid?!?!?!
7 MILLION views? Of course, I guess I’m contributing by putting it up here, but really? I’m sorry, but this video is…well…stupid! Of course, maybe I’m wrong. You’d have to put up a pretty convincing argument for me to think I’m wrong. Here I was thinking, man I should probably do my own youtube kind of show like thing, like the podcasts, but…screw that. After watching a guy like this:
I think I’m better off with what I’m doing. I guess, I just don’t have the comedic timing, or the “outrageous” personality, or the cool hair, or whatever. I guess I have no room to talk, because I’m not popular like those people. I don’t have millions of followers. I guess, I’ll never be a super start…and if that’s what it takes to be a super star…then I’ll just be lame.
But if you guys liked the last couple videos. More power to you. I mean, to each their own. I just don’t get it. I think the viewers are either really young…or…have no idea what’s funny. Of course, you may be asking me, “Well, what do you think is funny?” Well, nothing on Youtube so far, so go watch the Hang Over, or Scott Pilgrim, or City Island, or Airplane, or Spaceballs, or Robin Hood: Men in Tights, or Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Funny, funny…etc. Funny. Yeah, its professionally done, but that’s why its funny. Its not…I have to say it again…stupid. Now I’m going to post a video of the following, because I think the reporter is hot and I like her accent. Judge me if you must.
