Well, the WWDC coverage from websites like CNet have given out all the details and the Twitter universe has been alive with talk about what it means with all the new features coming with the new iPhone 4. And as I read the news about the latest Apple must have, I found some pretty funny tweets about how sexting would be a dying art on the new iPhone. It took me a minute to really understand what it meant, and now I got it. Who needs sex texting (sexting) when you can just get naked on its front facing camera? Its the last real wall between personal communication.
Now you don’t need to send the sexy pictures via text, no longer will those images be saved on your phone to kick you in the butt later. Instead, you can do all those things in real time with the new iPhone application. The video phone is now a reality, despite the slow starts from other products that attempted to make video phones main stream. Now with Apple coming out with this new iteration of the iPhone, we can now be sexy on a whole new level, and possibly not get caught.
Of course the sexting will never go away, that’s great discreet “fun” when you’re in public, but when you have your private time and can’t get with your girl, or your other girl, or your other guy, you can always use this feature. This is not a slam against the phone, its simply an observation of what you can do with these new features. And I think that’s one of them.
Sure it makes the phone call more personal, and sure you can’t lie your way out of a conversation if you get into a video call, but you can see the person now. You can see their expression, you can see if they’re paying attention to you, and you can’t roll your eyes anymore in sarcasm when the conversation gets a little to silly.
Maybe I interpreted that tweet all wrong, maybe its all that time I spent on chatroulette the other night and saw all the naked people, and maybe I am wrong about this, but I think its the future of being naughty.
