I’m not saying men aren’t annoying, but I stumbled upon this article on Guyism, and thought to myself, wow, this is good. Its good in the fact at how accurate it is, and I guess it would have to be since its coming from a woman. Each point she makes from the delayed text messaging to stalking you on Facebook, to nibbling from your plate were spot on. The more I read, the more I felt she was explaining my ex. Of course, come to think of it, a lot of women I know are like this, and to hear the explanations made a lot of sense, even if it was a little tongue in cheek. Which, I don’t really know why the term tongue in cheek is used for joking-like. Anyway, the more I read this, the more I felt that this article was incomplete, and I went searching through Google…well, that was a waste of time. They all reference this article. As a matter of fact, it seems like this is the only article out there that even references these behaviors.
Now not that men don’t have annoying behaviors too, but I think our annoying behaviors are little more transparent. We don’t live in a shroud of mystery like most women. Now, of course there are exceptions to the rule, and the possible reasoning why a list for men doesn’t exist is probably because the list would be too long and take up way too much time to get through. With women, its a easier and more to the point, because its not really that much. Every person acts differently to be sure, but there are some universal behaviors that all women encompass.
I’ll give you a list of the behaviors and you can click on the link below to get the explanations. Its again, fairly accurate and explains a lot.
– Going to the bathroom in groups. Now, this has been a cliche since the beginning of time, and I do and don’t understand it. I realize the necessity to gossip, and to smack talk the people you’re with, therefore the necessity of going in groups, but…isn’t that what text messaging is for? Its about as blatant as asking a girlfriend to go with you to the bathroom, but again…makes sense.
– Delayed texting is very annoying. It leaves the men wondering and curious as to what the hell is going on. But I guess its more of the power women would like to display on men. Its a way to flex that muscle, knowing you have us hanging on your every word. Still, now that I know its an indication of interest, maybe I’ll be more patient next time.
– Facebook stalking is creepy, and I mean, really creepy. I don’t know if I want to be with a girl who has to know every little detail about me through my Facebook. I will tell you all in time, I’d like to think the basis of our relationship is on trust. But sometimes, when you have a Facebook, the temptation to look through all the nooks and crannies of the person’s life becomes too much. That’s why…social networks suck.
– Being fake is something I get completely. Of course, I guess I wouldn’t term it being fake, I would term it being courteous, polite, and not being a flat out jerk about it. We may not like everyone, but we can all be civilized right? Still, I guess the writer is right, its hard, and it can come out wrong, but at least you’re trying.
– Avoiding sex can be a double edged sword, but as the writer puts it, that there are biological reasons, I will just…leave it at that.
– I don’t mind that a girl nibbles off my plate, I find it endearing. So I don’t know if I call this an annoying behavior, but more of a sign of comfort in a relationship. Whether they be friends or girlfriends, if a girl takes from my plate, its a sign that they don’t find me disgusting, which is always good.
– Gossiping is a guy and girl thing, I don’t know why its just relegated to the women. But instead of celebrity gossip and gossip about other people, which men do, the guys like to talk gossip about athletes and the like. Its all the same, just with different players, and its a way of life. Without gossip, how would we know anything?
