I guess the older you get, doesn’t necessarily mean the wiser you get. I guess as we get older we get more desperate or more hungry for sex? That’s speculation, because as far as I know, people are horny all their lives, for the most part. I understand biology screws with that as you get older, but old people still get it on. I know, I painted a horrible picture in your mind of an 80 year old getting sweaty with a 70 year old. And if I didn’t, I probably just did, which was my master plan to begin with. Anyway, my only guess and the guess of this study that talks about it, is that…well, when you’re older you get into a committed relationship most of the time. Or at least long term ones. And when you do, you’re less likely to use a condom, because…maybe you want a kid or something. Either way…
The article from Blast Magazine has a study from Indiana University that says simply one thing. That teens are more responsible than adults when it comes to safe sex. Teens between the ages of 14 and 17 are more likely to use condoms during sex than adults as they get older. There’s also comparative studies between gender and races. All very fascinating, but the focus is on teenagers and their use of condoms.
This weirds me out because I don’t recall schools freely giving out condoms. Though maybe its the easier access to places like planned parenthood, where condoms are given away. I also recall reading statistics on teens having a lot of pregnancies. So…this information is not only confusing, but goes against everything I understood about being a teen. When I was a teenager I was less responsible, I was more carefree and careless. Uh, I guess I was wrong. So what do you all think? Were you responsible when you were having sex when you were a teenager? If you’re a parent, does that give you a little bit of a relief knowing that your teen maybe practicing safe sex? Are you an adult who tries to get away with not using a condom as much as possible?
