I remember when I used to tell my girlfriend, it would be so hot if you were making out with another girl, or getting it on with them. I encouraged it, and egged it on, and asked if that woman over there would be someone she’d go snogging with. Yep, I used the word snogging. And we’d have sexy time talk about it, and we’d flirt with the idea, but it never happened. Has my mind changed? Well, to a degree. See, that’s the problem. According to a survey done in the United Kingdom, over a third of men are willing to dump their girlfriend for kissing another female for fun. A larger percentage would be angry. I’m actually very surprised by this. Of course, the sample is fairly small when you consider there are hundreds of millions of men in the US and the UK and they only surveyed 1,500 men. Okay, that’s a good sample size for any survey, but yeah…
So what seems to be the problem with it? Men are enticed by lesbian sex scenes and kissing scenes in movies. There was no complaint when Megan Fox was getting down and dirty with Amanda Seyfried. Of course, those are two women on a screen. No REAL love is there for either of them. Men enjoy watching girl on girl action, so why is it so bad if their significant other is locking lips with another lady?
That’s the bothersome idea. We idealize straight “lesbian” interaction so much, that its almost expected for us guys to just say, yeah, that’s cool, we don’t mind if our girlfriend is making out with Megan Fox. Which actually, doesn’t sound that bad. But in reality, that girl is still a girlfriend, is still in an relationship with us, and we prefer they didn’t go around kissing any random girl. Maybe its because we didn’t set up the encounter ourselves or we men feel inadequate because we think a girl would be better suited to pleasing another girl.
Either way, whether men get angry at their girlfriend or dump them all together. We only have ourselves to blame. We hyped up the girl on girl action, and we’re paying the price for it. Next time, let’s stick to hyping more fun with us, and we should really be careful what we wish for.
