Huh? What? Wait? What The Hell Am I Writing About?

You know, there are just some weeks where I just have no idea what to write about. I write most of the entries in this blog and I try to think of at least two to three things to write about every week. Of course, I could always put the question out there on Twitter, and maybe even here, for those who read the blog, but I never really get a response. It rsquo;s not anyone rsquo;s fault, it rsquo;s just that I don rsquo;t have the thousands of followers needed to get a few responses. Hell, I follow a bunch of people and read a lot of blogs and listen to a lot of podcasts, and I RARELY ever write or call in. Why should I expect you? As a result, that leads me to keep inspired and motivated, even when I have neither the motivation or inspiration to write. Which is why I cheat and post things from Dani the Universe and Dean the Movie Cynic. I also realize I need a cool name like they do.

For instance, this week, I thought I rsquo;d give my review of ldquo;Catching Fire rdquo;, a two year old book that is already incredibly popular and has several million readers already. My opinion shouldn rsquo;t sway anyone because it rsquo;s not only a sequel, but one that can easily be avoided if people just want to watch the movie next year. So, why waste my time, and yours, reviewing a book that I can easily say, ldquo;I love, go read it! rdquo; Plus, my new ldquo;Scott Pilgrim rdquo; obsession with all things Hunger Games is unhealthy and very disturbing. Also, just learned today, the new director for the upcoming ldquo;Catching Fire rdquo; movie is Francis Lawrence. As if my love for Jennifer Lawrence has been heard and brought into form with this mediocre director and the disdain the fans have for him. For the record, I think he rsquo;s brilliant (because of the name). Hehe, okay, that rsquo;s only funny to me.

So that leaves me with this. What do I write about? I already know one thing I want to write about, which you rsquo;ll see later, or already saw if you rsquo;re from the future, but what else can I write about on a regular basis and how do I keep this up? I know people don rsquo;t write every day in their blogs, but hell, if you like this blog, I want you to have a reason to keep coming back at least three or four out of the seven days of these fine weeks, to learn something new, or to find something funny, or to have something worth talking about with others. Sharing is caring, and I care way too much. Maybe I can write about how awesome I think 90 rsquo;s Gin Blossoms are hellip; Again, old news that are pretty much facts in our current world culture today. Fact: The unequivocal amazingness that are the Gin Blossoms of the 90s. Their current music blows. Why reiterate that?

Then I figure that I have this option right here. I can ask what people do when they want to write or maybe what people would like to see me write about. I know I am but a fledgling blog writer (which makes me sound old because I know we rsquo;re called ldquo;bloggers rdquo;) trying to earn a few loyal readers listeners here and there, hoping to prove myself worthy of your attentions, affections, and reflections. I want to get your take, to hear your opinion and to allow you to validate my existence. People out there in the inter-verse, I write for me, but I am also an attention-seeking whore.

So I leave you with this thought. How does one, who does all he can to reach out to you out there who listen to my podcasts and read my blog, a guy who works a full time job, who tries to distract himself with video games and books and movies, who writes horribly run on sentences, and who watches the numbers like a hawk, how do I just calm the flock down and appreciate that everypony who comes on here and reads and listens are still going to come, even if all I rsquo;m doing is feeding the fandom, writing about things that only might seem important to me and pimping out my friend rsquo;s ventures? I guess by writing a blog post like this.
