We are in the holiday season, and it’s a time for positivity and not so much of the negativity that we see all around us. Do things actually get better though?

Welcome to the Online Friend Simulator. Because everyone could use a friend, even online. I’m Francis aka The Other Guy.

How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well. As we barrel through the holidays, I thought it was for some positivity. To talk about the good things going on in the world and in your lives. It wasn’t easy, and I don’t think I actually accomplished anything, but I definitely tried. So join me as I talk about the good, the bad, and the better, on this episode of OFS.

As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for listening. Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts or anywhere you listen to podcasts.

  1. Listening on 4 December
As Julia Child is known to say Butter is flavor. And isn’t flavor the spice of life? The reward for the turmoil that is day to day existence?
    Alone, together (remotely)?
That Quark, Garek, clip is famous! DS9 was a great series!
Laziness is a form of entropy. Entropy is a state of existence that is inevitable. Entropy may, as scientist theorize to occur trillions of years from now, be how the universe ends; heat death of the universe. Life, living, conscious existing is by its very nature is a counter to that state of existence.
It is said that Americans, culturally, live to work. Others, culturally, may work to live. As a nation, we are very productive, perhaps that is a reflect of that cultural mindset. Right or wrong? Where is the balance?
Ah inflation. But also, local government policies which impact cost of goods. But in the United States government is suppose to be representative, so who causes those government policies which may increase costs of goods? But that might be a contentious topic, so let’s move on to something potentially less divisive.
Our lives might not be the best, the most comfortable, the most fulfilling, the most luxurious, the most noteworthy or memorable. Yet, today, working among those who have fallen on hard times, we are fortunate/blessed to be better off than those whose continued existence are among the lowest of our society. What occurred in their life led to their downtrodden state? How many of those decisions did they have control of? How many were due to decisions outside of control?
Why do some flourish, while others falter? Age old questions.
Thanks once again for the podcast. See in January?

    1. “Why do some flourish, while others falter? Age old questions”

So….why do some flourish, while others falter? Some say its because of hard work & initiative. Others say it’s because of luck.

I would say that luck has nothing to do with it…..work & initiative has everything to do with why people prosper….that & people realizing that their actions have a major impact on others….even if they don’t see what the impact is.

Most of what we are going through as a society is because we’re stuck in a greedy mentality, with no idea of how our actions have an impact on themselves & others around them.
