For the longest time, I was under the impression that the most effective pick up line, was, “Hi, how are you doing?” Apparently, I was wrong. Its a great way to start a conversation, but its not necessarily the best way to flirt. So, someone else did the job for us trying to find out what it is that gets your foot in the door to a woman’s heart. Well at least online, and take this all with a grain of salt, which…I really need to research why people say that. So next time you’re at a dating website, or the origins of this study, Badoo, try out this phrase and maybe you’ll have success.
“You have beautiful lips.” That’s it. Compliment a woman’s lips and apparently she’ll respond in a positive way. Of course, I’ve never done this, nor would I know if this works in person, but online it apparently works. Flirting is the hardest part, getting the conversation is the most difficult thing in dating. And this study continues to expand what women from other countries look in compliments, where American women prefer their clothing complimented.
With more and more people finding themselves finding dates and finding love online, this might come in handy. I learn that more and more people are going to chat rooms, and to forums, and mingling throughout the internet in ways where in person dating may become obsolete. Sure you meet up for dates in person, but all the flirting, all the compliments and the humor now take place online, on text, all in digital form. Of course, you all know this, and so do I, and now you have another weapon in your arsenal in dating and finding what you’re looking for.
But as I discussed at one point with Lisa and Dave. Women hear compliments all the time, they hear about how beautiful they are, etc. To get yourself known, you have to be different, to try different things. Its like an interview process, as all interviewers have heard it all before. They’ve heard the same canned comments to all their questions. Its up to you to come up with something unique, something that makes you different from all the other guys who’ve flirted with them. So good luck with the dating world, I find that compliments are good in moderation, but if you’re funny, and you can hold a conversation, that’s sometimes more valuable than reminding them how beautiful they are.
