New Law Would Ban Marriages Between People Who Don’t Love Each Other
I was trying to get the Old Spice commercial about beautiful people found here. It makes more sense to this post. Instead, its about a law that bans marriages between people who don’t love each other. Sorry to the people who take it seriously.
Okay, I have no idea what I am, ugly or not. I obviously am not aware if I was an ugly person. But I at least try to look as un-ugly as I possibly can. Yet, when I go out…it almost looks like that people go out of their way to look unattractive. I understand we all view beauty differently, eye of the beholder and all, but some people I think go out of their way to look bad.
Maybe I just don’t understand self esteem anymore. I know there is beauty on the inside and it can be reflected on the outside. I can’t help it, but being a guy, I do realize looks are the first thing I notice and make me turn my head. I know its the same for women, but its more subtle. But nowadays I’m seeing more and more people going out of their way to look bad. And I’m not talking about style, I think the current trends and fashion is fine for the men and women, but then…there are those who just plain look fugly.
I bring this up because I’ll be out and normally, I don’t notice people. the beautiful people catch my eye, but as well as the polar opposite. Those people who are caked in makeup, wearing clothes too small and too tight for their body, and showing off things that shouldn’t be shown off are very noticeable. Then there’s the patchy, unshaven guy with the bowl cut hair and mismatched clothing. I see them walking around unaware of eyes that stare at them. I wonder if that’s mistaken for attraction?
Do these people not have friends or family or coworkers or classmates or anyone to tell them…umm, you look bad. Of course, I do tout, be yourself, don’t let anyone change you, and if your’e happy with who you are, then keep it going. More power to you, really, but I think its just attention seeking now. And that’s sad. Look at Lady Gaga. Say what you will about her music or her looks, but with the crazy clothes and the makeup…wait, maybe she’s trying to hide the fact that she’s unattractive with the gaudiness. Well played Lady Gaga, well played.
Then there are the Megan Fox’s, Zoey Saldana’s and Jessica Alba’s who can apparently do no wrong. They can wear anything and do anything and look good, supposedly. Well…I have no complaint. I just thought I’d mention them because they’re hot. See? I may not be handsome, I may not even be cute, but I recognize hot, I recognize beauty. Maybe those who are “ugly” don’t care or don’t know. Maybe they love their personality so much, that they don’t care that people stare. Maybe they are incredibly sexy when you get to know them. I know a lot of beautiful people who may not be considered “classically” beautiful. But they are aware of their looks, their own personal beauty. And some, who don’t even know how beautiful they really are.
This is just me thinking out loud, and me putting it out there. Monocle smile!
