Talking about a fraction of what geek's love, other than their ladies & gents

Image: Sura Nualpradid / FreeDigitalPhotos.netStarting this week, I’m going to try to do something a little different. I’ve thought long and hard about how I just write about relationships, and I realized something. That can get old quick and that can kind of information can actually run out quick. Yes, there are a ton of new studies (often stuff we already freakin’ know), and there is new research, but really… there’s not enough. And plus, this is only a fraction of the things I’m interested in and only a fraction of what being a geek that’s in love is all about. Nerds aren’t just in love with people, but they’re in love with tech, movies, games, and a huge gambit of other things. So I’m going to go ahead and share my love of those things, and I’d love for you guys to share your’s too.

So let’s start with movies (and maybe a little TV and TV nostalgia. Hell I just saw a few of the old Super Mario Bros. cartoons…wow, that was bad). I’m a guy who hasn’t watched a LOT of movies. When I say I haven’t watched a lot of movies, I’m talking about such things as “The Godfather” or “Clockwork Orange” or (insert pop culture, popular movie here). I’ve seen a lot of other movies, like a ton of Jackie Chan movies, plenty of Mel Brooks filcks, and British comedies. Okay, my movie going experience doesn’t stop there, but I watch a new movie every week (I’ve seen “Captain America”, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, and “Cowboys and Aliens”). So what I would like to do is give a little review, and pretty much talk about the experience in the theater. I don’t know how many people are interested in the “experience”, but I always find that it affects how the movie works for me and how it fails. And hopefully I’ll be able to give a suggestion and introduce you to something brand new and awesome!

Then there are video games. I’m not a hardcore gamer. I mean, I’ve just finished playing, for the first time, “Uncharted 2”, a game that came out 2 years ago. But these blog posts will be geared towards those people in the middle of casual and hardcore. From old games and newer games, I will hopefully talk about and I guess…review and just give an idea of the different aspects of the game that I think are just strange. I’m also a pseudo Trophy whore. Yes, that means that I’ll only be covering Playstation games and I do have a 3DS, so…yes, I bought that abysmal failure, but I actually like it a lot. I also have an iPad, but I don’t really game on that because touch controls SUCK! I hate touch controls and I don’t know how people do it. Give me a physical controller and I’ll be a happy camper. Also, whenever the Vita comes out, I’ll be getting that too. By the way, I’m not a Playstation “fanboi”. I just found myself in a situation where I needed to get rid of some consoles, and I only have time for one, and there was a friend of mine who was willing to buy my XBOX 360. So, yeah, I would include the 360, but well, I can’t afford a new system, so…yeah. Sorry guys.

Finally, I want to talk about my geek porn which is technology. I listen to about five tech podcasts, so I keep up to date on what’s going on in that world. I don’t know what it is about technology that I love, but if I had the money I would own every piece of hardware that my heart desires. Instead, I work with what I have, live vicariously through others, and I just play around with such things as the latest Ubuntu (which I’m using right now, and I am actually annoyed with because it doesn’t seem compatible with my NVIDIA graphics card, so it’s just a dim screen and it’s kind of annoying), read up on the latest with smartphones and tablets, and well, I won’t name it all here, but there’s a lot of interesting tech out there, not limited to personal computing, but cars, music, and all sorts of different things. So I will talk about some of the things I hear on those podcasts, find on the web and experience in my life with reviewishness-ness.

As you can tell, I’m hesitant to do “reviews”, because there are so many out there already. But hopefully I’ll be able to give my own take on all these things with a certain je nais se quoi. So expect that with the relationship blog posts, and there you go. Sincere Sarcasm is not just about Geek Love Radio, but just geek stuff in general, and some honest facetiousness, which I’m “meh” at, and so much more. I hope you like that new content and expect some of it this week right here, in this very place. Fun times!!!
