More TV Than You Can Shake A Stick At

Image: winnond / FreeDigitalPhotos.netNo matter where I go on the internet, I see a lot of talk about the new television shows of the fall season. Now, I normally don’t talk about TV, as I usually claim that I don’t watch a lot of it, but this year may be different. There’s actually TV out there that I want to watch. Now I missed out on a lot of the big comedies, and the dramas that everyone talks about every year. Seriously, how do people have enough HOURS in the day to watch all this TV? I mean, there’s so many shows, so many recommendations, so many quotes, it’s making my brain melt, literally. Then, you go and put Zooey Deschanel in a show, and NOW I have to watch TV!

Now one of the reasons I don’t dedicate myself to watching shows is because, once I do, they’ll go away anyway. I haven’t found a show I liked that actually STAYED on the air. So why should I begin now? I mean, I usually find one or two new shows I want to cling to, but as was proved to me last year, the TWO shows I actually enjoyed and watched, just went POOF! Now I’ll never know what happened in “No Ordinary Family” or “Outsourced”. Hmm…maybe I just have bad taste in TV. Oh well, this year, and you guys can tell me if I’m wasting my time, I’m going to cling to Zooey Dechanel’s “New Girl” and possibly “Terra Nova”. Though, if I was REALLY going to be honest, I may actually watch “Revenge”. I don’t know why, but when I saw the preview in the movie theater, I thought, “hot chick killing people for revenge…may be kind of cool.” Little did I know that this would be in the vein of a “soap opera”, and boy am I just liberally using “quotation marks”, so this may just be a guilty pleasure.

So I’d like to at least be somewhat in the know of good media, ala television ala ddin. Any suggestions or recommendations on new shows? See, here’s the problem. I don’t watch a lot of cable/satellite/shows that costs money kind of tv. I have access to it *wink wink*, but I don’t know. I’m not trying to get inundated with television. As I said, I only watch a couple of shows, only because there are just not enough hours in the day, or week, or year, so I’m curious as to what’s worth my time and what isn’t. I watch a couple of shows already, but I’ve mentioned them enough as it is. I mention them a little TOO much. So any suggestions, advice, and/or recommendations of shows that are new this season would be greatly appreciated.
