Well that explains a lot about women…sort of.

Image: photostock / FreeDigitalPhotos.netSo according to this new study, it says that women who were on birth control were more likely to pick plain looking men who were poor in the sack but would end up being in long term relationships. On the other side of the coin, women who were ovulating wanted the hot guy, the one who would be amazing in bed, but wouldn’t last long in a relationship. That research is amazing. So much so that I’m not only going to write about it, but make it a topic on Geek Love Radio. But first, I want to say this makes a lot of sense, and second…did I date blind women?

If you read the article you’ll see that good looking, buffed out men appear more ready to give the ladies the babies, while the plain John’s(?) are the long term providers. We’re one crazy, messed up species. We do things in a strange way, but that logic, to me at least, makes perfect sense. So when you’re on the pill, those hormones, those needs, and those desires seem to be supressed. Women will look at men and judge them on a more emotional level than a “I want to jump you” level. Which is great for population control and for guys looking for long term relationships. Just look for the woman with the birth control pill in her mouth. If you’re just looking for a good romp between the sheets, well…that possibly explains why most women who had the Lothario in their lives had the kids and are now…single moms?

The following paragraph needs a disclaimer. I’m as baffled as anyone else is on what I’m about to say. This isn’t a boohoo, sympathize with me moment, nor is it a bragging moment. It is simply a anamoly in the space time continuum where something peculiar happened in my life. I hope it will happen again. But in all honestly, you all know by now I don’t think I’m all that, I just happened to either get really lucky or really, I’m dead and this was all a dream. Disclaimer…done.

Now here’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me. I have attracted attractive women. That’s all I’m going to say, because to me…it’s either I actually am not a bad looking fellow and good in the nocturnal acts of love or I was asleep the whole time and dreamt the whole thing. Either way, it didn’t seem like their judgement was impaired by the pill, and I know it wasn’t alcohol, so…just a peculiar situation. So it’s very possible this study is severely flawed.

So why not play that fun little game yourself gentlemen and see if your girlfriends were taking birth control, and ladies…take a moment and assess your life choices. How are you choosing your men? Click the link below if you want to read more about this interesting, and amusing study.
