Welcome to the Online Friend Simulator. Because everyone could use a friend, even online. I’m Francis aka The Other Guy.
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well. I’m doing well myself, but I have NO idea what to talk about. So I ramble. I think it makes sense. So take a listen as I talk about what’s on my mind as well as respond to feedback from the last episode.
As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for listening. Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts or anywhere you listen to podcasts.

Enjoy your health, if you have it, as long as you can enjoy it. Age only brings more issues and makes our mortality that much more of a reality. Appreciate those around you while they are still around you. When I worked in the medical field, the one thing most people I came across wanted more than anything in the world, was more time with those they wanted to spend that time with. And when someone was gone, that was one of the biggest laments. Sorry no light talk with that last paragraph. I wish I could say everything is alright now, as Han claims, but it is not.
Mankind is fallible, it is flawed. However, as the saying goes, to fault is to be human, to forgive is to be divine. It is so much easier to remember the negatives, so much harder to raise ones eyes above the muck and gunk that comes with existing, and focus on the few things that make others and one self happy.
To disagree is easy, to agree to disagree amicably is tricky and difficult. We should tolerate that which we disagree with, without having to be force to accept and change one’s own beliefs to conform with what someone else believes in.
Sometimes what is in the best interest of one person, sometimes what makes on person happy, is not in the best interest of another person and makes that other person miserable. Compromise is difficult, and might not maximize happiness for everyone, but if the compromise can be agreed to, might be tolerable for the most amount of people. Being unmoveable from one’s position ensures that compromise is impossible.
I thought I left a comment for ofs74. If not I will leave it here.
Listining/commenting on 1 April 2021. Apologies for this late commentary for ofs74. I thought I had posted one, but if I did there might have been a technical issue which caused it not to save. If that is the case, this will be my next attempt.
Did we ever actually all get along? I am reminded of the angry and divisive language between Jefferson and Adam’s, and they were at least at one point in their lives close friends. It reminds me of the sunscreen song again, which mentioned how nostalgia makes one wipe away the bad stuff.
In fiction, some of the best written antagonists are those who see themselves as the hero, and are motivated in what they believe is best for their side. In life, don’t most people see themselves as the protagonist in their own story? How tortured a life must one have if in their life they don’t see themselves as a protagonist in one’s own existence?
The smallest minority is the individual, and non-comformity to what a few believe that someone in a group should be brings ostracizing. There is a lot of ostracizing these days, like the saying that someone is not authentically X enough.
As the saying/poem goes, weak men create hard times, hard times create strong men. We are or were, as you remind us, not in hard times. Even with everything going on, it is not near as bad as it has been in the past.
Thanks for being a friend.
Bank favors. Do things to earn favor with others. Do not expect favors to come conveniently. There will be a time in our lives, when truly low, when the things that one does to earn favor and positivity with others, will pay dividends. Here is hoping and praying that one need not get in that point in a life when one is truly at their bottom.
That you have bounced back, is a testament to your resiliency, and something for us all to look up to.
This is to let everyone know that on Sunday April 4th 2021, aka Easter, I have gotten the Johnson & Johnson shot so I am now vaccinated!
YAY!!!!
That is all!!! THANK YOU!!!!
