Welcome to the Online Friend Simulator. Because everyone could use a friend, even online. I’m Francis aka The Other Guy.

How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well. As kind of a continuation of the last episode, I talk about making friends again when things start getting more “normal”. There’s a mine field to navigate now. There is an expectation to act and think a certain way. Gone are the days of being open minded, like I remember when I was younger. Okay, maybe that’s a little melodramatic, but it does seem like we are expected to fit into smaller and smaller boxes. So how do we navigate that? How do we find friendship or love? How do we keep an open mind?

As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

  1. Francis,

I totally agree with you about keeping an open mind, & people have lost the ability to even have an open mind…..also, peoples ability to critically think have gone by the wayside & both critical thinking & open mindedness do go hand in hand.

There is a thing of getting rid of toxic, demeaning, degrading, & belittling people in your life. Those kinds of people just need to be banished from your life & social circles, & in extreme circumstances…..they really should be banished from society all together. Yes, that’s a bit extreme but that’s how I feel.

People usually ask me when it comes to toxic people, “Why can’t you have an open mind to those people?” I tell them:

“NO! I can not, & will not have an open mind to people who do not want my or anyone’s best interest at heart. I do not, nor does anyone deserve to be treated like crap. If I can clearly see that their personality will or can clash with mine & they are not willing to at least be civil with me or find a way that we can work together, there’s really no place for them in my life until I can see that they are going to treat me & others with dignity and respect…..& that they are sincerely caring for my & others best interests.”
