Welcome to the Online Friend Simulator. Because everyone could use a friend, even online. I’m Francis aka The Other Guy.

How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well. With the world slowly opening up again and people getting their vaccines, it may seem we’ll be able to socialize again. So I talk about how I used to socialize, and I feel like I may be repeating myself, but I tell the stories anyway. I’m excited. We’re one step closer to normalcy, hopefully.

As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

  1. Listening on 12Mar2021.
As we get older, disease and physical difficulties become more common. It may happen to one self, or someone close to you. Youth and all its possibilities and potential are wasted on the young, or so the saying goes. “Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth, oh nevermind, you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded”, as the song lyrics go. Such a good song, The Sunscreen Song.
Do you believe you deserve to be happy? If not, would that explain why you are hesitant to announce and celebrate your romantic relationship in public? If so, how does being hesitant about speaking about the positive things that happen in your life make you more happy?
Thespian life, setting up the set, facing so your visible to the audience, all the electrical and audio systems, post play breakdown. The odd life it was once out of it. Don’t speak of That Play, don’t wish someone GL, and all the other superstitions.
Why is it that highlighting differences seems more common in the current times? Why is it that connecting about those things we enjoy and share in common appears to be more difficult? Is emphasizing our individual victim groups a contributing factor? Are we afraid as a society of non-romantic inter-individual relationship intimacy?
Thanks for taking the time to read my comments for OFS72, all 30 minutes of responding especially given the length of my comment.
So the Martha O thing, I was responding to you riffing on a lyric or movie quote. So I thought I would do the same for a movie line from Robin Williams’ Hook, which had a Filipino American actor Dante Basco as a supporting character. Basco was the protagonist in the movie ‘The Debut’, and was the VA for Zuko in ATLA.
My bad on the typo, Out of Many One; E Pluribus Unum.
What is your favorite song? Why is it your favorite song?
Shame the shyness overwhelmed you with the kind and attractive grocery worker. Imagine the friendship that might have arose. Thus the entire quantum multiverse as depicted in the TNG episode Parallels. All the what could have been.
I look forward to the episode about Peterson’s lectures and symposiums and your reaction with them.
Karl Urban is best movie Dredd IMHO. Futurama and the Lucy Liu episode.
There is always tension out on the extremes whenever one looks at any historic period. But yah, it does feel like within the general population outside of the extremes, that there was a greater tolerance of differences and a smoothness of normal interactions, without the fear of public ostracizing and its consequences. Or perhaps it is nostalgic glasses making us believe it was more common in the past.

Finished listening on 13MAR2021, a day before White Day
Do you practice White Day? A response to Valentine’s Day originating in Japan.

Thanks once again for another episode! Looking forward to more.
