Welcome to the Online Friend Simulator. Because everyone could use a friend, even online. I’m Francis aka The Other Guy.

How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well. The world moves at you fast. This time around, it’s all about opportunity and serendipity. You never know when something good is around the corner, and will you be ready to take advantage of that? We never know, and I share some stories of when I took advantage of said situations and it turned out really well.

It’s also the mailbag time. I forgot how email works and I was able to get into the email and I respond to some that have come my way, so thank you for your patience.

As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for listening. Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts or anywhere you listen to podcasts.

  1. Hot, humid & sticky, eww
Does doing a podcast, feel like a one way conversation, with a delayed response. Almost like sending out a message in a bottle?
Life is the struggle against entropy, and the highly likely heat death of universe. I think I wrote that before, but that shouldn’t stop one from the pursuit of happiness.
In the day to day existence of an individual, political divide has little impact on one’s daily life, nor should it. I think I read/heard early on, that in most crisis people are drawn together to find collective security against the unknown. Yet, in a epidemic/pandemic, every random stranger is a potential vector, a potential killer, and thus people are naturally inclined for their own well being to distrust and feat those around them. Even those who only have the most positive and supportive intention towards another person.
    Friendship is Magic.
Becareful of those who will take advantage of you, who fain friendship.

Thanks for responding to all our feedback.
Onward and upward, ever striving for a better tomorrow, godspeed.

  2. Serendipity is a very interesting topic!!!

By the way, speaking of the movie Serendipity….I do know 1 of the stars of that movie. His name is Mike Benitez & he played the superintendent in that movie. I got to know him through the web series community & he was in a few web series that I support.

He’s a great guy that I’m glad that I know, despite that his political views do differ from mine quite a lot but I do value him as a friend none the less.

But anyway….about the topic of serendipity, it does make me think of the phrase “Everything happens for a reason” & sometimes the smallest of meetings can open doors for you & place things in your life for better things to happen. Serendipity does allow for growth because your opening your horizons to new things. So, every serendipitous moment does happen for a reason.

It makes me wonder though….when it comes to someone like me, someone who has a constant fear of rejection & the fear of social situations because your sometimes too afraid to do anything because your afraid that you might come on too strong, or not strong enough & getting that way puts me into a panic attack to where I can’t do anything other than cry & beat myself up because I wasn’t able to handle the social setting better than what I did.

In answer to my question I have to say this: The Internet is a wonderful thing!!! Having it in my life has been able to bring people into my life that I may not have ever known, people like Jeff Burns, You(Francis Fernandez), RightCowLeftCoast, & many many others that I’ve gotten to know all because I was able to meet people from all walks of life because of a common interest as I have. I would hope, & I have the assurance that the online meetings will not be in vain, because I know that the connections I have made have put me with good people that need to be in my life for any future endeavors to come. Also, this can apply to the few friendships that I have managed to make on an offline basis.
