I survived Wondercon! I made it to Easter Sunday, the last day of the convention, and what a weekend it was. There were laughs, there were cries, there were booty, booty, booty, rocking everywhere. Look, I’m going to have to be creepy and say, there were a lot of exposed butts at Wondercon, both female and male. Still, that did not deter, and in some cases, it enhanced, this final day of pop culture geekery.
The second day is when the real fun begins, because now the convention gets crowded, the cosplay get’s turned up a notch, and the panels get real. I had no idea what to expect when I decided to watch Birdman. I saw a trailer, a few movie stills, and that was it. I had no idea I’d be stepping into a bizarre film with amazing cinematography, fun acting, and an unusual premise. I just thought it was going to be a comedy. I like being wrong.
I’ve been thinking a lot about love, sex, and relationships from a geek’s perspective and how I’ve gotten to a point where I’ve actually stopped trying. First off, I’m very aware of how bad I am at relationships, and secondly, I would feel horrible for having any person to have to put up with me. Mind you, this is not a pity party or anything, this is just a realization of facts.
Inspiration and motivation are hard. I don’t know why, but I’ve always had difficulty with both. Sometimes it’ll come out of nowhere and I’ll come up with a brilliant story idea or something fantastic for the podcast on my way home or standing in the shower. It’s like a bolt of lightning, and as quickly as it arrives, it’s gone. It’s kind of a bummer.
After doing another fine episode of Back When We Were Interesting, I do a little Reddit before getting some work done. Well, as a result, I end up watching the X-Men theme song, and then…the themes of cartoons from my childhood. This is of course a black hole of lost time so I’m going to just share these with you so that I am not alone. Enjoy!
The season finale of Doctor Who happened over the weekend, and it was a doozy. As you can tell from the title, I already have a review for the show and the entire 8th season, and it’s all summed up into one word. Disappointed.

I didn’t anticipate getting sick this weekend. I am powering through with grace and avoiding people as I cough and wheeze through the convention. So I will give you a brief recap of what I’ve sat in so far this morning, and what my plans are for this afternoon.

It’s five days away, and I’m prepping myself for the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be my third/fourth (depending on who’s counting) convention I’ve ever attended, and I’m getting excited. This, though, is apparently not their first convention. So I’m here to give a little detail on what it is and why I’m excited on going.
I can’t believe I’ve already done a week of this writing business. It feels good. My reward is that I’m actually going to rest! Yeah. That’s all for today’s blog, baby!! WOOO!!! Yeah! Come on…now. Okay. Tomorrow, a post about stuff. For now. Enjoy some QI learning.
Sometimes you have to just get something out of the way just so you don’t have to keep worrying about it or thinking about it anymore.
